Microplane complements its collection of ultra-sharp kitchen slicers with the introduction of the new Mini V-Blade Mandoline. This space-saving take on the popular kitchen tool offers three slicing options to uniformly cut ingredients with speed, ease, and convenience.
The Mini Mandoline will be available this Spring at retail locations nationwide and online for $24.99 suggested retail. Eliminating the need to master knife skills for recipes that call for slices of tomatoes, mushrooms, and other soft foods (it is not recommended for use on tough, root vegetables), the Mini Mandoline delivers slices ranging from a paper-thin .10 inch (great for air-fryer vegetable chips) to a thick half inch (for healthy flavored waters and more) with minimal effort.
The user can interchange the thin and medium settings by simply lifting and flipping over the reversible deck per its identification markings. For the thickest slice, remove the deck entirely. Unlike other bulky, multi-component slicers on the market, the Mini Mandoline is self-contained: all components are stored attached to the unit.
As with all razor sharp Microplane kitchen gadgets, safety topped the priority list during the design process of the Mini Mandoline. Not only does the large capacity food holder with hand guard keep food aligned over the blade for better control, it also protects fingers when slicing small ingredients. For added safety, the slicer includes a blade cover for safe storage inside kitchen drawers or countertop utensil caddies. The slicer is dishwasher-safe for simple and secure cleanup (cover and food guard should be hand-washed). Crafted from durable stainless steel and strong ABS plastic, the Mini V-Blade Mandoline will be able to withstand years of kitchen duty. Other features of this go-to tool include a comfortable, soft touch handle with a hole at the top for optional hanging, and a non-slip base for slicing vertically inside bowls, plates and on cutting boards. Its slim design makes it superb for small kitchens with limited work and storage space.
